It has been a long delay between the victory and this post. Regardless of the three points, it was yet another disappointing outing for Liverpool. I would've posted another vent of anger had it been not for the winning goal.
And how I hate the fact that an Israeli scored that winner. I want to hate all Israelis, even if they play for Liverpool, but I have to say that guy is indeed brilliant, creative and the goal deserves credit.
In the first half both sides kind of cancelled each other out. Liverpool had a strong claim of penalty of an off-the-ball challenge by Bramble on Hyypia. Later Aghahowa had his claim of penalty when he was brought down by Carragher but the linesman flagged offside on the by-then inactive Scharner.
Then came the disallowed goal on Marcus Bent for offside. To me this is the most controversial point in the game, however little of this disallowed goal was mentioned anywhere in the news. That goal should've stood. As it turns out, soon, Liverpool scored the winner and took home the undeserved three points.
Should Rafa be sacked? That certainly was the opinion of an avid Liverpool fan, Mohd Syafiq bin Ramli, 21. He said that Rafa is rightfully to be sacked with the rubbish, unexciting teamplay Liverpool exhibit right now. He also mentioned Benayoun played very well that day, even better than the lazy Gerrard.
On the contrary, the ever so optimistic Reds fan, Irman Johan bin Asmil Andrew was contented with the three valuable points. He said that Wigan is certainly not an easy side and the three points is more important than anything.
Elsewhere, Arsenal and Manchester United also notched hard-earned 1-0 wins while the post-Mourinho Chelsea continues to struggle with yet another scoreless performance made worse with Terry's injury and Drogba's sending off. The match of the week, though, had to be the outrageous goalfest at Portsmouth. The 7-4 scoreline against Reading went into the history books as the highest goalscoring match in Premier League.
And by the way, I hate playing fantasy football.
