Usually in the event of Liverpool dropping points (especially in a failure to capitalize on United's lost) I would be really frustrated or dejected or those kind of emotions. This time, I have to rise and acknowledge the superior performance of one man who led his team to dent Liverpool's title hopes.
Had I been at the City of Manchester Stadium on the away fan's rows, I would've stood up for a standing ovation for the home team captain. So rarely do I praise the ability of an opponent to ruin my club's title hopes, but I really felt this one stood out.
60% of possession and more than 20 shots on goal, Liverpool couldn't find a way past Richard Dunne. A majestic performance, indeed.
